ballshaped or cubeshaped.

Once you start stretching them in one dimension, your statement isn´t even remotely close any longer.

1Mton right 30-60-90 triangle with a density of 0.25m^3/ton with a stubby length to short side ratio of 4:1. Close enough to as described by RFC for the spider drive. He said triple skeg and I am approximating it as a right triangle. Easier than an equilateral triangle as I do not have to divide by 2. :o

1Mton ship
Side short: 104.92m
Side Long: 181.727m
Length: 419.68m
4.000 Million cubic meters.

8M ton ship
Side short: 209.84m
Side long: 363.453m
Length: 839.36m
32.000 Million cubic meters.

Volume scales by the CUBE regardless of its shape.

Not according to OBS. 2 LS is out of range for that, but in range of energy weapons.

1) I believe he was thinking of graser torpedos

and

2) I thought that was the range reserved /available for ships without sidewalls. Can get through but not all that effective. Tweener range.

Was thinking both actually. OBS has TWSMNBN as ranged to 100-150,000, and IIRC, thers mention of slightly bigger ranged versions in one of the Jayne sections of the companion books. cant remember which though.

I suspect an 8 meter graser will do a number on most anything, sidewall or not, unless that anything is a fort.

I suspect even a fort would feel nudged by an 8 meter graser.
