In short, it's a strategic game about build planets to build fleets to smash them against NPC-Pirates and the fleets of other players. It's turn based and a turn is a day, so this isn't one of those over-the-top colorful "collect your daily crystal" handheld games. It's true, old-school browsergame with a forum and a chat, a small wiki and a lot of buttons. And it is under steady development and pretty fresh Sincerly, bfh |

Is it similar to Space Empires IV?
(Yes, I could look, but am busy.)

So is this a pseudo-real-time game, in which I must play on a very regular basis, possibly with a day real time is some number of days in the game, or is this a turn-based game where I hit the 'turn complete' button to advance to the next day?

Hey phillies, thanks for your questions, I've learned something from it. Yeah, it is a multiplayer browsergame, it isn't a single-player-game in the browser. Therefore you can't "close" the tick - the tick will be processed at midnight (CEST). So I hope you wouldn't feel pressured into a game but yeah, if you want to be successful there is a need for to make your ticks regulary. But except the socializing part I want to build a game which can be played without a heavy invest of time. On my own, I don't like it to feel my time wasted in MMORPG-style games - which are pretty impressive (e.g. eve online) but time consuming. And regarding your first question, unfortunately I never played Space Empires IV. At this time in my life I played Master of Orion II like a pro But yeah, it seems that there are some similar parts. I've read the wikipedia page for SEIV and at least the colonization part, the complexity of the planetary attributes are comparable in a way. Sincerly, bfh |

Although they look quite similar, in reality they are not. Master of Orion II is a lot harder than Space Empires IV. I played Space Empires IV and tried Master of Orion II I couldn't keep up.

Then you should give a try to Battle for Honor
nah, but if you like 4X-games, check it out and leave a comment which I can take to improve the game! It takes some ticks to get into it but then it starts to catch you |

Is this an approved game? ******
RFC said "refitting a Beowulfan SD to Manticoran standards would be just as difficult as refitting a standard SLN SD to those standards. In other words, it would be cheaper and faster to build new ships." |

This is a pretty good question, because I tried to reach out but didn't got an answer. So part of my announcment here is the idea that someone 'who cares' take notice and contact me by the address given on the main page. As far the game isn't about the characters and mainly contains technology, some contepts and stars and planets, I hope that nobody feels"affronted" or violated. I like the concept of "user generated content" of the early, pretty free internet and in the end, it is a kind of advertisement. If good or bad is in the eye of the beholder. Sincerly, bfh |

So, in order to make a little noise and describe what the game is about I decided to write some kind of change log for a release, if there is something interesting.
So a interested one could read a little bit about it without making an account. Gameplay 1. You can deactivate fleets with the red button in the fleet menu and send the ships to the reserve. There you can now also create fleets from splitting other fleets if you take a ship out of the Mothball and into a new one fleet does. 2. Individual warships can be scrapped. At the moment you only get the pops back. In the outlook, the components are stored in order to be able to use them again. Is also a sustainable game, here! Miscellaneous 1. Operationals awaiting deployment are now visible in the infrastructure dashboard. 2. Also on the infrastructure dashboard is the population chart for the entire empire. 3. Also in the infrastructure dashboard there is the resource overview of your empire. 4. The ground constructions now look a bit snappier. 5. A whole lot of other stuff also looks a bit better. 6. The Empire and Alliance lists now contain the profile icon. 7. The trade offers now include the distance to the point of sale. Normally distance correlates more or less directly with travel time - but that only becomes a thing later. Currently all trades last 10 ticks, just like all colonizations last 10 ticks to finish. When I get to Adding "Default Freighter" will also include the distance dependency. And the most relevant bug fix is that new main planets gets enought resources to start constructions - that is a thing I missed after the last rebalancing. |

Due to the holiday season, a slightly later update and not quite as extensive.
But as always I hope that there is a little insight into the game Gameplay 1. The new tutorial button can be found at the bottom right. This allows you to display some relevant information in context. There aren't any tutorials for everything yet, but there will be more to come over time. 2. You can no longer build the Songbird Flight I class. 3. The shipyard recalculates a job's construction progress when a new level is activated. 4. Ships can now be upgraded to new flights. For this purpose - as for repairs - jobs with high priority are created and the current construction job is interrupted. The repair and upgrade buttons can now be found in the planetary shipyard. 5. The UI elements for fleets are slightly redesigned and hopefully more useful. Miscellaneous 1. The buttons for profile and logout are now small icons. 2. Planetary Constructions: - The building list automatically selects the building if it is unique. - The building list contains color coding, see tutorial. 3. Education: The military ranks have been nerfed and balanced towards each other. 4.Your own planets are now grouped in the menu according to the star system. 5. In 'Organize Expansion' all systems can now always be seen, no longer just those with colonizable planets. 6. The transport section is a little tidier and you no longer have to confirm manually; the entries are applied directly. 7. You can now search for systems and zoom on the star map. Outlook The next part is hopefully to complete the 'Convoy Raid' mission type, the 'Pirate raid' feels a bit lonly, I assume. |
