That's probably every bill. :)

There was something in the papers down here in Oz along the lines of what were spending maintaining and running the detention centers overseas for the illegals, would build them all a house, buy them all a car and still have money left over.

At some point you have to wonder if places like Manus, or things like that wall they talkabout in America, are actually worth the cost.
Not that buying them a house yadda yadda is the best answer. No idea what is.
Ah that's probably why politicians get paid the big bucks. To fuck these decisions up for us.

The problem with saving money by legalizing them and buying them a house, is that while it may make short term fiscal sense, it is a long term fiscal disaster. Winding up in a detention center, deportation etc tends to at least somewhat discourage illegal immigration. But if you start buying them houses - every poor family in the 3rd world will sneak in and the costs will skyrocket.

Avoid the 'We have to pass it before we know what is in it' malarkey of the Ombamacare bill?

Any inability to read for any reason should be an automatic NO :x :!: :!: :!: vote. It is very seldom wise to buy a pig in the poke.

Newsletter - Numbers USA

A thorough analysis of government data revealed that the Obama Administration has issued 5.5 million more work permits than allowed under law between 2009 and 2014.

:o :o :o

More on that: Actually, only something over one million are KNOWN to have been illegally issued. With many others the data needed was not collected.

The 5.5 million illegal immigrants who have already received work permits from the federal government exceed the projected 5 million illegal immigrants to be given work permits under President Obama’s unilateral amnesty.

I read elsewhere that since 2008, about 18 million foreign workers have come into the country. The above is only the illegal ones. Bluntly, without good borders, we are in competition with the whole world, and we had better plan that way.

Apparently, what happens is these companies sign up workers in -- in this case -- India, and they call up the big power company and say: Look, we have all these young people who have an education, and your salaries are real generous to them, they like your salaries, and we will just send them over on H-1B visas.
:(

For some information on becoming less dependent on the system, study the "Sustainability vs Survivalist" thread and some of the resources mentioned there. When laid off in 2003, the first thing we did was enlarge the back yard garden. The garden is paying off anyway, not only in better nutrition, but in the wallet. It does require being outdoors a bit when the weather is nice. :D
