If that's what he meant, I have no issues. That's not what he wrote. The first sentence refers to the House.

The initial post refers to Congress. I agree oversight is lacking and both parties are playing more politics than doing their jobs. But by ignoring the the Administration's responsibility for direct oversight of the bureaucracies, it is implied that they are less at fault. I have an issue with that.

Donnachaidh wrote:I believe he was meaning the entire legislative branch (House and Senate) when he said Congress.

BrightSoul wrote:My point was that if we had a functional house that did its job the executive over reach would near impossible due to said congressional oversight. I figured that went without saying but as usual someone on either side will nitpick to avoid the point until someone shoves it in their faces. Thanks for taking care of that for me Donnach.

How else can one explain the Air Force wanting to ditch the deadly, cheap A-10s so it can buy over-priced, under-performing F-35s that can't even manage to get the software to fire its weapons?

Many people in many branches have violated their oaths. Many citizens are complicit with this. But not all :!: :D

In the meantime, I wish to say thanks to the brave students who have made the unpopular decision to bring me to their campus to discuss controversial issues like campus censorship and elective abortion.

The politicians don't want to be held accountable, so they let the bureaucrats play. I truly wish the Supreme Court would take one of these laws and rule it unconstitutional on grounds that it violate the separation of powers principle enshrined in the constitution.
