There have been news stories about bureaucrats in many nations who choose to be rulers. In case anybody in the USA thinks we are immune to this, and that we can never have "Mandarins" as in the SLN stories:

"Government Bullies" by Senator Rand Paul

Our government was first designed to make too much centralization of power difficult. The problem occurs when those who have taken an oath to defend the constitution refuse to do so. Instead they defend their self-chosen orders against the citizens.

"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When people fear the government, there is tyranny."

Wish I could say otherwise.

One literally cannot make this stuff up. Morality? Say what? Nothing to see here... move along to your regularly scheduled football and entertainment programing. Everyone go back to your dancing with the losers, much more scintillating. What? Our debt is past our GDP, and no one sees a problem here? GDP that is nearly entirely based upon the inflated oil dollar.
