Except that pandering to the Law Abiding Gun Owner's insistence on having unregulated access to guns enables the religious (of all creeds) nutters, the other nutters, and criminals to all have unregulated access as well. I'm a LAGO and 20 years after our regulations were tightened I can still get any hunting or match guns I want.

Access to guns is protected by our Constitution. Law abiding gun owners are not doing anything nefarious in defending our Constitution. They are not the cause of gun crime. They do not enable nutters to use guns in breaking the law, nor terrorists in killing people to gain political goals.
Blaming these law abiding gun owners for terrorists' and nutters' actions deflects from policies that will help prevent nutters from being driven to extreme violence and terrorists from committing acts of terror.

The Order(aka Silent Brotherhood) bombs a synagogue and murders talk show host Alan Berg. Timothy McVeigh blows up the Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Eric Rudolph bombs Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park, a lesbian nightclub and two reproductive health clinics.
