To take this topic to a slightly different direction.
There's been photo's of that Roof guy posing with burning flags and guns and all the nuttiness you'd expect to crop up. Which made me wonder how many photo's of the various Presidential candidates there are where they are posing in front of he confederate flag or while holding a gun. Anyway I started with Ted Cruz for whatever reason and noticed that there are more photo's of Obama shooting a gun than Cruz holding one. (In both cases only an under over shotgun, Cruz duck hunting, Obama possible shooting skeet. Hard to tell) Same with Marco Rubio. Only photo I found of him is at a gun show. (Pump action shotty by the looks) Is this a trend that others have noticed? To me it looks like the poli's are trying to pander to both sides (Well, they are politicians)without letting on what they really believe. I mean, I remember seeing more photo's of Dick Cheney with a gun than I could find in this, admittedly cursory, search. (Come to think of it, only shotguns then too.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please don't use that evil, racist bastard's name. Don't give that idiot any more attention. I am not trying to impose any sort of censorship, just requesting that the incident be referred to using anything other than the name of that evil, racist, murdering waste of breath.
Those kind folks of the Emanuel A.M.E. Church have shown the grace and goodness of the Christian ideal. An ideal all Christian's should aspire to yet remarkably few attain. Perhaps I will get there some day, but for now I request that his name not be used in this or any other forum out of respect for people whose goodness and love deserve so much better than they received from that evil rat bastard. Thanks you. ps. I wouldn't be surprised if David Weber knew these of folks at least in passing. They are different versions of Methodist and might have run into each other.

In agreement on this point. all too often a large component of the motivation of these whackjobs is the anticipated infamy. Their name will go down in history type of thinking. Make them all obscure. There should be a total media blackout on the names of these jackasses, keep them out of history books, deny them the recognition they want. By all means mention and discuss the incidents, but enough to refer to the perpetrators using generic identifiers. |

What some people fail to understand about the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution is that is says what it does. The private ownership of firearms is a responsibility and necessity of citizenship.
The powers that be can no more take away gun rights in any capacity any more than they can abridge any way shape or form the right of freedom of speech. The two are equal. "Congress shall make no law." "Shall not be infringed". Very simple language indeed. This means that we have a duty to defend both. This is what I for one do not understand at all. Don't all the folks who call for gun control understand that it is as important as their right to speak freely? If the government takes away our guns, sooner or later they will clamp down on the freedom of speech. History repeats itself. Are these anti gunnes that dumb? Apparently they may be. Our family grew up around firearms. This includes machine guns and suppressors. No problem. The stuff is not going to jump out of the gun safe. The armed public must outgun any government. That is the way it must be. Right now our government outguns us. Very scary. Give them one inch and they become a ruler. Just me. HB of CJ (old coot) SW OR USA. All US Code Laws And NFA Rules Apply. Sadly your gun laws will vary greatly. |

And what lots more people don't understand is that pretending the first half of the Second Amendment was written for decorative purposes or something and can simply be ignored completely is a modern distortion of the meaning of the text not consistent with the understanding of that Amendment through most of US history. |

Sorry old one, but the only way any public can outgun any government is if the government has no armed forces, so if you truely believe that then you must call for the abolishment of the US Army, the Marine Corpse, and the Air Force. Actually the things your founding fathers decided you didn't need which is why they wrote that amendment.
Oh, still waiting for my government to try a force takeover after banning many guns 20 year's ago. They're doing it mind, but by the method of appealing to the fuck the world my security first element that will ignore any political lie as long as it paints someone else as the terrorist thug bad guy. The very type of yobbo who would own an automatic weapon if they could. But then this is nowhere near the discussion I was looking for. Bloody Obi Wan Kenobi. It sort of got over riden a bit.
I was curious how the Republican candidates seem to be avoiding being photographed actually holding a gun, or in front of the confed flag but that's a different topic. I'm sure that they were in the past, but during the election cycle they seem to be avoiding it. Am I off base, or just missing stuff. And if I'm not, how does it reflect on their stated yay guns positions? To give Ted Cruz some cred, the photo's of him I found appear to be while duck hunting. Got to respect a real hunter. Actually the other thing I noticed was that shot guns, usually under over's, seemed to dominate what recent photo's there were. It's almost a given that there are none of Hillary. Nor Bernie (he doesn't strike me as the hunting type anyway) Are there any other Democrat posibilities? Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Got it. Perhaps because they are moral cowards who do not ever want to piss off even a few voters. What they should be doing is getting photographed holding a M16 rifle which every law abiding citizen must keep and bear.
Same thing standing next to or in front of a big American flag? Or other. Their campaign managers are probably socialogists and anthropologists (both sp?) who do not want to even attempt to present a wrong image. They are trying to get elected. They need votes to do so. The last thing on their mind is thinking about actually serving the nation. Very egocentric. They are in it for themselves and certainly not for us. Just muy opinion. Speelll chzk not working. House cleaner hid dictionary ... again. Oppps. HB |
