I'm not a Donald fan and the list of negatives is a very long one but in the spirit of the New Year, I'm trying to think of everything good he is currently contributing or could contribute.

1. He has appears to have rediscovered the original Tea Party and is forcing the political class in DC to care.

Back in the beginning before the Tea Party was highjacked by the right wing, it was referred to as "the angry middle". It drew from all parts of the political spectrum Republicans and Democrats alike. Mostly working class and middle class movement of people who were being ignored by the political class in DC. Generally not politically involved people but becoming newly politically involved because of the severe recession, angry at DC's crony capitalism and the economic mismanagement espoused by BOTH political parties that they were paying for in more ways than one.

Most of these people drifted away after the tea party was commandeered by the right wing. But they didn't disappear, they are still there and they are still angry. Instead of fixing the things they care about DC has gone back to ignoring them. Republicans are catering to the extreme right wing and Obama representing the Democrats has been catering to wealthy Greens and limousine liberals. They have been unjustly forgotten by the elites again!

2. He's forcing the political class on both sides of the aisle to actually talk about issues that they'd rather ignore. And to go on the record with their positions.

3. Trump like JFK and Reagan genuinely believes in American exceptionalism and making America great again. The psychological impact of a charismatic president who genuinely believes in the USA (JFK and Reagan) is HUGE. He may differ from them on other issues as they differ from each other. But the three have in common the ability to inspire people to believe in their country.

4. He turned millions into billions, understands business and can actually make a deal. Hello trade treaties. Maybe we'll actually benefit from one for a change.

5. He's right in many ways about China. The political elites of BOTH parties and their crony capitalist friends are so busy making deals that will bring them short term wealth that they ignore elephants in the rooms like China's state sponsored cyber attacks, China's state sponsored corporate espionage, China's increasingly aggressive posture toward it's neighbors, China's currency manipulation, China's trade agreement violations, etc.

Yeah, about that ... did you know that, as a businessperson, he is
a) less successful than a conservatively run hedge fund and b) less successful than Paris Hilton? No, seriously. If he had taken his original seed money and put it into a well-diversified hedge fund, he'd have much more money than he does now, and comparing the business careers of him and Paris Hilton shows that Hilton was able to turn a small (5 million USD?) starting seed into a brand worth about a billion USD.

It is difficult isn't it? It's so much easier to list all the negatives.

She does do an excellent job of pretending to be a bubble brained blond bimbo although she clearly has inherited the Hilton business sense from her great grandfather.

Only with a very specific demographic... to the rest of the country (and most of the planet) he exudes anti-charisma.

The recent British Parliamentary debate on whether to ban him from the country was particularly entertaining. (It boiled down to "well no, we won't ban him, even though we all agree he's a <insert long list of derogatory statements>")

I will concede that a lot of your point 1 is true. Especially as the bulk of it that doesn't necessarily mean anything to or about Trump. Point 2 is both not true and not relevant. He screams the same nonsense that many of the others on the right edge scream, he just does it with even less truth and accuracy, to the point of refusing to concede obvious lies were mis statements. Point three is a matter of perspective. To me he has none of the vision or the charisma of either JFK or Reagan. He just spouts whatever his handlers think this group of suckers is ready to hear. Point four is a lie. His wealth has grown from inheritance at almost the rate of inflation and he has screwed up his companies badly enough that at least three of them gave declared bankruptcy and impoverished those stupid enough to follow him (think of him as PT Barnum and the sucker born every minute.) I think he would be a worse negotiator than the 2nd Bush, who wasn't good. On point 5 his views on China like all his other positions are whatever the suckers want to hear. He has offered nothing on how to deal with China that makes any sense. I have heard nothing about how to handle claims to the South China Sea, North Korea, or the stealing of military and trade secrets from Trump.
