I sincerely hope your methods of persuasion are effective. There are exactly four pairings I am genuinely invested in wanting to see happen, and this one is number two. Those two were made for each other.

Plot Twist which won't happen:

The GA will evaluate Simoes for Streak Drive data and then wants to incorporate the design, but they'll get shortstopped by by their respective deliberative assembly. Reason: It has been noticed by leading hyper physicists that the Streak Drive is severely polluting hyper space and therefore directly contributing to the energy death of the universe. And since they were already doing this for the Strike Drive, the physicists in question evaluated standard hyper drives as well - and realized that those are incredibly dirty as well!
Now all new construction warships have to meet emission standards to be approved, and older, dirtier warships are being phased out. Starting with the Invictuses and Medusas which are the worst hyper space tainters out there.
This move is met by galactical acclaim, only the rogue Mesans don't want to contribute, since replacing all their dirty slavers will reduce revenues by at least 50%.
In order to stop Mesa from destroying the galaxy every human lives in, most star nations declare war on Mesa. But the actual invasion is rescheduled for another mainline book, since no star nation has emission standards approved warships available yet...

Now there's a question. One, would a non-Manticoran citizen be allowed to take even a courtesy title? Two, would that non-Manticoran citizen become a Manticoran citizen upon marriage, particularly given a piece of information RFC let slip recently? And three, would "Dame" be enough to distinguish them, or would the aforementioned non-Manticoran citizen have by then a) become a citizen and b) been knighted?

And even assuming all of the above is true, would our Sonja be able to continue to escape being called Admiral Low Delhi - and if she did, would that mean that the woman commonly addressed as "Admiral Low Delhi" would not, in fact, be the woman who actually inherited the title?

...okay, now RFC has to do it just so he can answer all these questions!!
