Honor, just before meeting Paul for the second time and getting some: TISM - Everyone Else Has Had More Sex Than Me

Trust me - look up this vid if you don't already know it. It's an excellent video... you'll laugh, you'll cry.

The SLN thinking they'll smash the RMN: Aerosmith - Dream On

The SLN after meeting with the RMN - again!: Kansas - Dust in the Wind

Honor having a *really* good time hang gliding (and giving her armsmen coronaries): The Byrds - Eight Miles High

Honor returning from Cerberus: AC/DC - Back in Black

The PRH reporting the results of the court ruling on Honor "murdering" the crew of a "peaceful" merchant vessel: Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive

Since it was mentioned before, but not in context... the Mandarins: Black Sabbath - War Pigs

And because we have plenty with Honor, Mike, Oversteegen, Terekhov, and probably several others I have forgotten: Tina Turner - We Don't Need Another Hero

...which also ties in to what cthia said about me a couple posts ago

Any merchant ship: Deep Purple - Space Truckin'

Tourville to Honor when HMS Prince Adrian got caught in an ambush: Cheap Trick - Surrender

Honor to Tourville at 1st Manticore: Jon Anderson - Surrender

The GA to Filareta at 2nd Manticore: Boston - Surrender to Me

The Stilties: Lacuna Coil - Swamped

Honor when Raoul was born and Emily when *her* kid was born (sorry... I am drawing a complete blank on the munchkin's name): Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine

Pirates to any vessel they catch: Adam Ant - Stand and Deliver

Cordelia Ransom: Queen - I'm Going Slightly Mad

Honor in her cell onboard the Tepes: Chiasm - Isolated

I'll add more again later.

I can't believe I've never seen that TISM video.

Seriously Maxx, you've got issues.
Of course you do know that five-alarm laughter is a felony?
Homicide by laughing gas!

I need some anti-laughing-gas!

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

I first saw it about 7-8 years ago at albino black sheep, a website dedicated to off beat videos and gaming stuff like that. Check out Cows With Guns too. It's on a par with Kip Adotta's Wet Dream in pun content.

<sniffle> That's the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a *long* time.

I'm sure Raise a Little Hell by Trooper has to be good for some event or person.

--------

As to a Song for Honor, I'd suggest a version of We Didn't Start the Fire by Billy Joel, with new lyrics that lay out the highlights of Honor's career/life. You could even do a version of the video, with Honor standing there, while her uniform adds rank & medals/flips between services/reflects things like eye patches & missing arms, people in the background change, etc.

--------

If we're feeling masochistic, we can parody some songs from stage musicals like

"Celery", from "'Cats"

or perhaps

"Don't Cry For Me, Nouveau Paris", from "Cordelia"

Weber/Lloyd-Webber co-works sound painful...

...aaaaaaaand now I will never be able to ditch the image of Eloise Pritchart standing on a balcony belting out "Don't Cry for Me, Nouveau Paris".

But if she's ever played by Madonna, I quit.

And one that always makes me think of Warner Caslet on and after Hades - what better for an adopted Grayson than a country song? It's Rodney Atkins' "If You're Going Through Hell".

...excuse me. I need to go cuddle Warner for awhile.

Well at least she's not on that same balcony belting out Celine's "Titanic" torch song...

...I may, in my weakest moments, have had that vision in my head too.

After which I smacked myself in the face and reminded myself that what was heartbreakingly romantic at age seven is just plain ridiculous for a twentysomething.

If only the lyrics didn't fit so well!

...see, I would never put up with this crap from my brain for any other pairing. *puts "Fields of Gold" back on and reaches for the tissues*

Honor's deathride in HotQ has always brought Vivaldi Four Seasons to my mind's ear. Her final approach against Sword Simmon's is accompanied by the comforting sounds of Summer and Fall. White Haven's entry into the system ushers in Spring with its increased vigor of new life. The Earl's missiles bring Winter's violent death with them. The pace of that sequence increases as the tension of the story increases.

Honor - The Battle of Cerberus

Well no one told me about her the way she lied
Well no one told me about her how many people cried
But it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know? Why should I care?
But don't bother tryin' to find her
She's not there

Well let tell you 'bout the way she looked
The way she'd act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eye's were clear and bright
But she's not there

Well nobody told me about her, what could I do?
Well nobody told me about her, though they all knew
But it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know? Why should I care?
But don't bother tryin' to find her
She's not there

Well let tell you 'bout the way she looked
The way she'd act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eye's were clear and bright
But she's not there

Also, as a bonus:

    Some lyrics I thought about:

    Butchers, thugs and thieves,
The people of the verge, they call us these.
    Butchers, thugs and thieves,
The people of the verge, they call us these.

And when the locals get resty, then OFS calls us down.

That is about as far as I got about the SL Gendarmes....
