This info about his behavior seems to be spreading rapidly. I've seen it on CNN, Fox etc. I'm not sure it has hit the international media yet????
One of the really interesting things is that the people who were there and actually know something were ordered (possibly some time ago?) to sign non-disclosure agreements. I'm not entirely sure what to make of this. Politically, it seems to be hurting Obama more than helping him. Given that I've never heard of this guy before this week and that outside of his hometown there wasn't a big push for his release, I don't see a political upside of this for Obama. And it's entirely predictable that a firestorm would arise from any sort of exchange, especially one that is 5:1 even without the complications of the unusual behavior of this soldier. Surely his pollsters etc would warn that this release would result in a firestorm. In the absence of a political motive, I'm left with the feeling that Obama believed (whether or not that belief was correct) that this exchange was the right thing to do in spite of the political damage that would result. Hit the news here at the same time as it did yours. People in the UK don't give a monkeys as he's not one of ours. Now, is he going to be watched very closely (assuming he's not jailed for desertion) in case he does a "Homeland"? ![]() Mike. ![]() ---------------------

An interesting scenario is that the POW is on a mission or has been conditioned to kill POTUS. The Taliban reasonable expect him to be greeted personally by Obama. He has been programed to employ some innovative means or just physical force.
Popcorn, pass me the popcorn.

Never saw the Taleban as decidedly devious, bloodthirsty and fanatical, yes, but not devious.
I don’t know how many US/Allied P.O.W.’s they hold, but exchanging the one who was sure to set the cat among the chickens when returned home is suspiciously serendipitous,. |

Much as I think our current POTUS should be put against a wall, I'm praying he stays alive long enough to get kicked out of office. If obummer dies, that makes that slack jawed unitard Biden president!

I heard that pure ignorance is overall less damaging than intellectually-enhanced stupidity.

A simplistic military assessment of officers has two attributes - intelligent/stupid and energetic/lazy.
The best (Honor?) are intelligent and energetic. Next are intelligent and lazy, as they can find useful shortcuts. Next stupid and lazy, as at least they cause little harm directly. The worst are stupid and energetic, as they cause most harm.

I must confess that the last episode of TYRANT provoked some amusing thoughts of what might happen if Michelle Obama gets angry at her husband.
