"let it go" rationality: In HotQ, Honor leaves Yeltsin after her Admiral's death, feeling responsible for it. She causes a situation in the system, similar to Elsa's in "Frozen."

Nice selection, nice movie. The ending was a serious Rose-like tissue moment for me.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Rose, forgive me. My niece read a few of your posts and gave me this weeks ago. Too many fires burning, totally forgot.

The perfect song for Eloise.

"My Heart Will Go On" Celine Dion

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you go on

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life we'll always go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Different ships, same Titanic ending.

Nimitz could have something like this:

Nimitz the 'cat, the wonderful, wonderful 'cat
whene'er his Honor gets in a fix, he reaches out with his paws (all six)
Nimitz the 'cat, the wonderful wonderful 'cat
he'll look at her with a "bleek, bleek, bleek," and her heart will go pitter-pat
for her Nimitz, the wonderful 'cat!

(tweaked Felix the Cat theme)

My inner seven-year-old is warring with my inner cynic.

The seven-year-old won.

That song could have been written for them.

Oh, honey. Give me a Disney song, I can tell you which character and/or relationship it applies to. You are in goooood company.

You'll likely not thank me for this, Rose...but for me, this is Eloise's eulogy for Javier. Long...and worth every second.

The tissues want you to know that they completely blame you for what they just went through.

Gets me the same way, always has (from well before the Eloise connection hit me). And now that I think of it, another VNV Nation song fits perfectly for Thomas Theisman, specifically his state of mind, just slightly "pre-oops."

I wish I saw this thread earlier!

Post-battle aftermath music: Barber's "Adiago for Strings"

Pre-battle sneaky maneuvers: Pink Floyd's "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" - no lyrics, and when all hell breaks loose, change to darker metal beat, like Kylesa's version - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNrr9YUGjQk

just my 2¢ worth.

The Republic of Haven's National Anthem - National Anthem of the Russian Federation (with appropriate lyrics, of course). It's stately, proud, and elegant - in short, perfect for the Republic.

Yet another for Javier and Eloise:

"There was a time when I believed that life held guarantees
There was a time when I was sure my future was secure,
But life had other plans, the future's in God's hands
And knowing that just makes me love you even more

We live on borrowed time
Yesterday is past, tomorrow seems a million miles away
But I promise you that I'm gonna make love last
By living every moment, every hour, every day

Now we may have a year, or we may have a lifetime,
No one can be certain what the future will allow,
But you and I are here, and this time is the right time
'Cause one thing that I know is that we have each other now..."
