I think (based on ART), that Honor already has the first female Armswoman in her service, as the personal protector for her mother, IIRC. Amd I think there has been a handful of graduates after her, again based on my memory of ART (don't have it in front of me).

But as for her POV on becoming the first Armswoman, yeah, that could be an interesting story.

How about the POV of a Steadholder's son in grade school who for some reason has armswomen. And the ribbing he gets from a bully.

"You gotta have a girl to protect you."

"Tell her that and she'll kick your and your father's ass!"

Kids, will be kids.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

What?! How did I miss that? I knew there was mention of it. But I thought it was speculation.

Thanks for filling me in Hutch.

I'm sure that within minutes, the call would go back to Pritchart via Hermes Buoy to get their pardons signed, after which Theisman would countersign, etc. Not becaus either of the "now GSN" officers would be going back to the RHN or even Havenite space any time soon, unless they are part of the mission to Bolthole, but because it would be the right thing for him to do.

I'd sure like to see them pardoned but considering posts scattered about the 'Verse I rather doubt it. :(

Even if they can't stay, the POV of them setting first foot back on Haven soil and the accompanying tears would be worth it. As precious as the first steps on the Moon.

I'd really like the POV of Honor's efficiency report on Suchon.

And the footnote.

Footnote:
If this Navy trash ends up on another one of my ships, I'm going to stuff her with celery. ;)

I'd like the POV of just Elizabeth and Eloise together all by their lonesome. No advisors. No naval officers. Just the two of 'em, and the soul searching and emotional deluge that ensues. And the bonding. And the embracing. Amidst tears of long awaited ... understanding.

And then the POV of the twinkling stars in the universe.

I'd like Lois Suchon's raw POV when she found her ass dirtside in OBS.

"I can't believe that jumped up Bitch called my bluff!"

Of course later, when she found out what had happened on Fearless, she might well of been "Good thing she threw me off the ship - that would have been a lot of work"

Agreed. She put the so in sorry. Why she wanted to be a Naval doctor is beyond me.

No wonder her last name. She was always telling authority "Suchon this!"
----------------------

A couple items --

1) Lois Suchon joined a peace-time navy (or so she thought). There are many that Avairs Terekhov would call 60%ers -- doing just enough to get by. Unfortunately a peace-time military sometimes lends itself to that attitude rather than the attitude of "what do we do if ..." (fill in blank for contingency planning). See Elvis Santino for an example of a 60%er.

2) Lois Suchon had probably been able to bluff her way with previous CO's; She did not count on her CO being the daughter of not only TWO doctors, but one of them was a very SENIOR military surgeon.

Basically Honor recognized her character type, and, although Honor may not have known the details of Suchon's job (but don't bet on it), she knew enough that Suchon would be near-useless as a combat surgeon.

It WOULD be interesting to find out if Alfred Harrington had ever met Suchon, and his opinion of her !!

I've always wondered about Suchon later military carier. Which probably took on the appearance of a boat anchor. My guess has always been that she was assigned after Fearless to MARS (Manticore Arctic Research Service) Adamson-Prescott (Amudson-Scott) station at Sphinx's south pole for a year as station doctor. (what they forgot to tell her, that it was for a planetary year)
Only half a year at the South Pole when spring starts, she needs to be transferred to the North Pole for the remaining half year.

Curious as to which other five planets or star nations play baseball besides Grayson and Earth.
